Let me fill in on some history.
I thought we should have a spider as animal of choice for rclis. Then
I searched on google images for many hours and came up with the gif
that is currently on the pages. I lifted it from some page somewhere.
The gif is placed in two locations on each page. This
gives the page some visible distinction, without being disruptive, I
think, and with low demands on page real estate. But this is a design
of pages not a logo.
What Sasa has done is to combine the gif with textual information.
I think it does a very good job of representing a link to us on
a foreign page. But I am not sure about its place in the current
pages. I would be graeful to others for their thoughts.
Alternatively, we can put it on the top page, at a link
"our logo" something like that.
