[RAS] more corruptions

  We have more corruptions. Seemingly randomly, processing
  stops with

  I am at my wit's end with this. I have deleted more
  unrecoverable files, but starting with new one's I get
  more corruptions. The lock size increase seemingly 
  did not fix things. 

  I have to give up on this.
