  I made a special config file 

adrepec at raneb:~$ e RePEc/zzz/conf/remi.raneb.shr.conf

  with

adrepec at raneb:~$ grep shr RePEc/zzz/conf/remi.raneb.shr.conf
$archives        = 'repec:shr';

  run remi

adrepec at raneb:~$ remi -conf remi.raneb.shr.conf

  So we knocked this down to be a problem in remi.
