  I am on the case. I redid the partitioning and formated sdb1,
  set up swap on sdb2, this time without a problem. 

  The rsync is running. If/when it has finished, run the 
  grub command, then swap the disks. 

  I am awfully tired, will try to sleep but don't hesitate
  to call, I'll call you back.
