Hi,
I'm especially writing this email to the attendees of the Connections 2003
Conference who will not be presenting research, as I have not formally
communicated with them. I want to be sure that you have all the details and
information you need to fully enjoy the Connections 2003 Conference next
weekend. I'm also sending a copy to the "talk listserv" so anyone can
benefit from a few last minute instructions.
To begin, I've attached a copy of the agenda. The conference begins on
Friday evening with a welcome reception at the Great Hall @7pm (The Great
Hall is located in the Administration Building, which is the large Tudor
house in the center of campus).
The formal agenda begins at 8:20am on Saturday morning in Humanities Hall
room #119. The Saturday afternoon lunch is in the Pioneer room in Hillwood
Commons. And the Saturday evening banquet begins at 6pm in the "top of the
commons" hall which is in Hillwood Commons.
The campus is large and for those who are visiting for the first time, it
may seem confusing to navigate. Please keep a copy of the campus map with
you. I've attached a copy of the campus maps. Also, please review the LIU
website before arriving http://www.cwpost.liu.edu/cwis/cwp/location
If you are staying at the Dorms and arriving at night - I strongly recommend
you take a taxi from the train station. It may be difficult for you to find
Brookville Hall on foot from where the bus drops you off. Here is a glimpse
of what Brookville hall looks like:

If you're arriving during the day then it's a little easier to get to
Brookville Hall to reach the on-campus Dorms (Directions: If you're coming
from Hicksville train station, you'll be traveling north to Northern Blvd.
Once you make the left onto Northern Blvd, make the 1st left into the
C.W.Post Campus entrance. Travel straight up that road. You'll pass the
chapel on the right and the multi-cultural house on the left. Then after
the next stop sign you'll see the Brookville Hall on your right. If you have
any trouble, call the Brookville Hall dorm office at 516-299-2331. There is
someone there 24 hours a day.
If you're staying at the East Norwich Inn, I recommend you give them a call
http://www.eastnorwichinn.com to find the best way to get there.
Here is a list of emergency phone #'s:
C.W.Post Emergency: 516-299-EMER (3637)
C.W.Post Security: 516-299-2222
East Norwich Inn: 516-922-1500
Classic Airport Shuttle: 631-567-5100
Maureen's cell phone: 631-682-0399 (I may or may not get a signal while I'm
on campus)
If you have any questions, please let me know.
